Membership Information

Why Join the Stargazers?

The Stonebelt Stargazers Astronomy Club is a relaxed, family friendly group of people with a shared interest in the night sky. Members range the gamut from beginners to veteran observers and interests from naked eye observation of meteor showers to the study of dim galaxies in large telescopes. The following are the direct benefits of club membership.

  • Meet and socialize with other amateur astronomers at the monthly meetings and at the numerous public and club events
  • Receive discounts on astronomy magazines
  • Become a member of the Astronomical League
  • Receive the quarterly league magazine "The Reflector"
  • Receive the Newcomers Welcome Kit
  • Access to telescopes for those without equipment of their own
  • Gain access to the astronomical League book service and the 28 observing programs they offer for all levels of experience
  • Contact with members who are knowledgeable about equipment and techniques for observing the sun and the night sky
How to Join the Club
  • Attend one of our monthly meetings or public outreach events
  • Fill out application with dues and mail it in
  • All levels of experience welcome, no previous experience or telescope ownership needed

  • Membership dues are as follows:
  • $10---Student (elementary, high school, college)
    $20---Single Adult
    $30---Couple (husband & wife)
    $40---Family of 4 (husband, wife and 2 children)
